New Zealand's top tennis player Marina Erakovic has bowed out of the singles draw at the ASB classic after losing her second round match to the young American Jamie Hampton in two sets.
Hampton who upstaged China's Zheng Jie two days ago was in good form again, taking the first set 6-1 and winning the second 7-6 in a tie-break.
Later this evening the doubles campaign continues for Erakovic and her British partner Heather Watson, who also lost her second round match in three-sets to Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands.
