Aussie selectors decide Watson's not a specialist batsman

The Australian cricket team's star all rounder Shane Watson looks an unlikely starter for the second test against South Africa following the national selectors' decision not to consider him as a specialist batsman for the rest of the series.

Watson is battling to overcome a calf strain ahead of the Adelaide Oval Test starting in a week, and he'll be selected only as an all-rounder if he's fit enough to bowl his medium-pacers.

Meanwhile Cricket Australia has turned down a New South Wales request for Watson to play in a one day match against Victoria on Sunday.
