A mystery medical condition appears to have led to the departure of the striker Mirjan Pavlovic from the Wellington Phoenix football side.
In a statement the club says it and Pavlovic have terminated his A-League contract by mutual consent but no reason has been given as to why.
The club spokesman refused to elaborate on Pavlovic's condition but referred to a statement released last month which said Pavlovic had a medical condition which restricts his ability to play professional football.
The club say they're unaware of Pavlovic joining another club.
The 23-year-old made 25 appearances for the Phoenix, joining the club in the 2010-11 season from the Newcastle Jets.
Pavlovic spent the pre-season on loan to Sydney United and his contract was due to end with the Phoenix at the end of the current season.
