Buller has won provincial rugby's Lochore Cup final, the home side beating South Canterbury in a 31-28 thriller at Westport's Victoria Park.
South Canterbury scored the first try in the 19th minute with winger Liam Edwards dotting down behind the posts.
And Edwards scored again soon afterwards off a cross-field kick followed by a clever centring kick and regather.
Buller hit back just before half-time with a try to Andrew Norton-Taylor to trail 20-19, and Buller scored first after the break too through second-five Pena Nabainivalu and the hosts then notched another through hooker IIiasi Namua after a lineout move.
A try nearing full-time to South Canterbury No.8 Kali Latu made it a grandstand finish but the visitors turned the ball over on attack and Buller kicked it out to end the game.
