Chiefs working on being without Craig Clarke

The availability of the Chiefs captain Craig Clarke for this weekend's Super Rugby final hangs in the balance and coach Dave Rennie is making contingency plans.

The lock injured his knee during last weekend's semi-final win over the Crusaders and will be given until tomorrow's team training to prove his fitness for Saturday's trophy match against the Sharks in Hamilton.

Clarke rates himself a 70 percent chance to play but if he can't Rennie says reserve Michael Fitzgerald or number eight Kane Thompson will take his place.
