Black Caps coach doesn't have to be a Kiwi says Wright

The New Zealand cricket coach John Wright doesn't believe his replacement needs to be a New Zealander but says there are domestic coaches capable of stepping up to the international stage.

Wright's tenure as Black Caps coach will end after his side's tour of the Caribbean later this year.

Having served four and a half years as coach of India, Wright doesn't believe it's necessary for a New Zealander to take over from him.

He says while people are more receptive to a fellow countryman initially, if a coach gets the results and success, they will gain acceptance.
