Badminton horse trials cancelled

7:30 am on 1 May 2012

The New Zealand equestrian Mark Todd will be Badminton champion for another year after this week's prestigious Horse Trials in England was cancelled because of heavy rain.

Todd, who won Badminton last year for the 4th time, says it's not too much of a Olympic disruption for him as he was riding his 3rd and 4th ranked horses there... but it will affect those New Zealand riders still hoping to impress the selectors.

Todd says the weather in Britain in recent weeks has been very wet.

Mark Todd says the horses he was to ride this week will now compete in France later this month.
