The National Basketball League minor premiers the New Zealand Breakers defeated the Townsville Crocodiles 76-69 in Townsville Friday night, to set up a semi-final rematch next Friday in Auckland.
Tom Abercrombie led the way for the Breakers with a game-high 20 points, while centre Gary Wilkinson added 16 points and six rebounds.
The Crocs turned the screws in the third term, holding the usually free-scoring Breakers to just nine points for the quarter to take a one-point lead at the last change.
In the final period though, New Zealand showed all the class that delivered their second-straight minor premiership, to hold firm and post their 21st win of the season.
