A surprise one nil loss by Manchester City to Swansea City means their arch rivals Manchester United are back at the top of English football's premier league after United had a two nil win over West Bromwich Albion.

Wayne Rooney scored both United's goal to put them at the top of the table for the first time in five months and give them a one point lead over City.

It was City's first loss in five league matches, and their second in a week following their Europa League loss to Sporting Lisbon.

Meanwhile the All Whites striker Rory Fallon has scored both of Aberdeen's goals in their 2-1 win over Motherwell in the quarter-finals of the Scottish FA Cup.
