A nationwide agrichemical collection of unwanted or expired chemicals is about to begin in rural areas, starting with Otago and Southland.
The Agrecovery Rural Recycling programme has been operating for two years now and is making major inroads into collecting unused chemicals from farms and orchards.
Coordinator Debbie Sherwood says it will pick up any type or amount of chemical.
She says many of the agri-chemicals collected have been lying around for years.
