The country's best sheepdogs are being put through their paces this week at the North Island and national dog trial championships in Masterton.
The competition, which started on Monday, ends with the finals of the Hunterway classes on Friday and the heading dog classes on Saturday.
National dog trials president John Harvey from Martinborough says the quality of dogs this year is very high.
