The Accident Compensation Corporation is starting a programme aimed at reducing accidents on farms.
ACC says more than 120 farmers a week were injured on South Island farms alone last year.
To help understand the cause of those sorts of accidents, it has started a pilot safety analysis programme.
Programme manager Peter Jones says it will involve advisers talking confidentially to farmers who have had accidents or near-misses.
He says ACC staff will be on hand to explain the programme at its stand at the South Island Agricultural Field Days, which opened at Lincoln on Wednesday.
