The Ministry of Agriculture says all positions have been filled on its Voluntary Bonding Scheme for Veterinarians for this year.
MAF says 30 young vets have signed up to the scheme and applications will not open again until 2012.
The initiative was introduced two years ago to attract more young vets in hard-to-staff rural practices by providing taxable payments for every year they work for up to five years.
