Olive harvest affected

7:11 am on 25 May 2010

The annual olive harvest is affected by the stormy weather in some areas.

Olives New Zealand president Andrew Taylor says the rain is frustrating because they can't get the crop off the trees, which may affect the quality of oil in this year's yield, resulting in a lighter yield.

Harvest delays in some groves can also cause a "concertina"-effect.
