Lamb exports to Saudi Arabia jumped in February, in a month that was otherwise similar to the year before, Agrifax reports.
Saudi Arabia re-entered the market when meat prices started to fall, with exports increasing 71 percent from January export volumes.
The rebound followed a period of fewer exports to this region due to much stronger demand from China.
Meanwhile, the American beef market had a slow week, with the domestic 90CL cow market shedding about US8c/lb, or about 3 percent, to be back near levels of five to six weeks ago.
The imported lean beef market also softened but that was driven more by supply levels than by the fall in domestic pricing.
