Some exhibitors have missed out after a last-minute flurry of demand for sites at the Central Districts field days in Feilding.
The biggest of the regional agricultural field days turns 21 this year.
Event manager Cheryl Riddell says she's had to rejig display sites to make room for 550 exhibitors at the Manfeild Park venue and there's a waiting list for the pavilion.
She says some last-minute bookings come from word-of mouth recommendations, picked up when people attend field days in other regions.
Ms Riddell says Fonterra's larger payout and the fact that there is no drought like there was last year have probably also contributed to the greater interest.
She says the event has pulled in crowds of about 38,000 adults in the past few years and with fine weather forecast they're expecting a similar number this year.
