Lower fertiliser prices on the way

Farmers battling higher costs from the drought will get some relief as fertiliser prices are lowered.

From next week, Ballance Agri-Nutrients is reducing prices on most of its core products by between $10 and $80 a tonne.

Chief executive Larry Bilodeau says international prices are falling and teh fertiliser co-operative is passong those on to farmers.

He says farmers are still trying to build up pasture cover after the drought to see them through the worst of winter and lower fertiliser costs will help.
