Prices at this week's South Island wool sale have regained ground lost at last week's North Island auction.
Fine cross-bred wools lifted by 1% for fleece and 3-7% for shears.
Coarse cross-bred wools sold for up to 5% more, but coarser lambs wool prices softened.
More than 80% of the 15,000 bales were sold.
Fewer than 5000 bales will be offered at next week's North Island auction - about a third lower than the amount rostered, partly due to the wet weather restricting shearing.
