Veteran shearer David Fagan demonstrated he could still provide competition for the country's fastest sharers when he won the New Zealand Shearing Championships Speed event in Te Kuiti.
Fagan, who is 51, shore his final sheep in 22.52 seconds to beat Dion King of Hastings and Digger Balme of Te Kuiti.
Fagan is 17 times winner of the New Zealand Open shearing title.
