Two people have been stabbed after confronting thieves who stole their car in the Auckland suburb of Lynfield.
The victims were taken to Auckland hospital with injuries to their upper body and hands.
Police said up to four offenders fled the scene in a second vehicle and were still at large.
The incident happened just before 11pm last night when the victims' car was stolen from outside a house.
They searched the area and found it close by, and were attacked when they confronted the people who had taken it.
Police said the victims are extremely traumatised and are being supported by family and victim support.
