Police have released the name of a man who died after smashing through the window of a Nelson store early yesterday.
He was Richard Stephen Woolmore, 36, of Nelson.
Mr Woolmore was taken to hospital after being found with a serious leg injury at about 4am yesterday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Johnston said a scene examination had been completed and it did not appear that anyone else was involved.
Police would still like to speak to anyone who knew Mr Woolmore and saw him in town on New Year's Eve, or anyone who was in the Vanguard Street area between midnight and 4am and saw any suspicious activity.
