A community worker says she does not care who wins the election, so long as they prioritise youth mental health.

E tū delegate and youth mental health worker June Sparkle was at the union's election event in Mangere on Saturday.

She said politics had no place in youth mental health.

"We need to develop a strategic plan moving forward that it doesn't matter whether you're red, blue, green, pink that you work across parties to work on a plan to support our rangatahi and tamariki moving forward.

"Youth mental health underpins all of society and everything we do."

Asked about the potential for a bipartisan approach to youth mental health, Labour Party leader Chris Hipkins said it was quite hard to achieve bipartisanship four weeks out from an election.
