Labour list candidate Maryan Street has stood aside to allow Raymond Huo to enter Parliament if Jacinda Ardern wins this weekend's Mt Albert by-election.

Ms Street was next on the list, but said she had decided she could be just as effective on issues outside Parliament.
She has been campaigning hard for a law change to allow voluntary euthanasia and headed a petition, signed by 9000 people, to the Health Select Committee, where submissions are still being heard.
