The Prime Minister denies he told Labour leader Phil Goff that National MP Richard Worth was not made Speaker of the House because of rumours about his behaviour with women.
Dr Worth has resigned as a Government minister after a woman laid a police complaint against him of a 'sexual nature'.
Labour leader Phil Goff has also made public a separate allegation of sexual harrassment from a different woman.
He says when he called John Key to tell him about the complaint, Mr Key told him he had heard rumours of similar behaviour which was why Dr Worth was not made the Speaker.
But Mr Key says that's not true and the conversation did not involve a discussion about the Speaker position.
