The Labour Party has laid a privilege complaint against ACC Minister Nick Smith accusing him of misleading Parliament.
Dr Smith appeared at a select committee hearing into the ACC last week, in place of the newly appointed chair John Judge.
Mr Judge replaces Ross Wilson, who was removed by the minister due to concerns about the corporation's financial performance.
Labour's senior whip, Darren Hughes, says it appears Dr Smith knew last week he had not legally sacked Mr Wilson, due to a technicality.
The party claims Dr Smith misled the House when he told Parliament the following day that Mr Judge was the new chair, and Mr Wilson the former.
The Speaker of the House will decide whether the matter should be taken further.
