Finance Minister Bill English has told Parliament he is "not preoccupied with details" after having to file a correction to a select committee over a error involving $15 billion.
Mr English told the finance and expenditure committee that the nominal increase in core Crown expenses from 2004 and 2008 was $30 billion.
He later filed a correction, saying that amount should have been slightly more than $15 billion.
Labour subsequently taunted Mr English in the House, asking him when he was going to get his figures right.
Mr English got a noisy response from the opposition benches when he said he was "not preoccupied with the details", but rather with making progress on reforms such as resource management.
