The Government has fulfilled its promise to scrap the Criminal Justice Advisory Board, which was set up by the previous Labour government only in April last year to give advice to justice sector ministers.
Justice Minister Simon Power says the Government will put the $90,000 it cost to run the board towards its victim Compensation Scheme, which aims to provide greater access to services for victims of crime.
Mr Power says he wrote to members in late December to formally disband the board.
