MPs have received a post-election pay rise, with Prime Minister John Key's salary now close to $NZ400,000 a year.
The pay increases, decided by the independent Remuneration Authority, range from between 3.8% and 4.8% a year.
Mr Key's annual pay as Prime Minister will be $393,000. His deputy, Bill English, will earn almost $277,000.
Cabinet ministers will take home close to $244,000, as will Labour Party leader Phil Goff.
Former prime minister Helen Clark, who is now adjusting to life as a backbench MP, will receive $131,000 a year.
The pay increases will backdated to 1 July, meaning even those MPs voted out at the election on 8 November will receive backpay.
