Chinese officials are continuing to push for an extradition treaty with New Zealand, Prime Minister John Key says.
Earlier this year, China released of a list of 100 people who have fled the country after being charged with crimes such as embezzlement, fraud and bribery.
It said between 11 and 20 were thought to be hiding in New Zealand.
John Key said although New Zealand had no formal extradition treaty with China, it could extradite Chinese nationals on a case-by-case basis.
He said the Government was not considering a treaty at this stage.
