A proposal to increase flexibility and efficiency in the building consent process has been introduced to Parliament.
Minister for Building and Construction Shane Jonessays it will help reduce unnecessary delays causing frustration among builders.
He says the bill introduces a pre-approval system for home designs which will be replicated on a major scale clarifies the process for making variations to consented work.
