15 percent will vote Green - Norman

The Green Party co-leader Russel Norman believes his party is in a very strong position in any post-election negotiations.

During last night's televised multi-party leaders debate, Dr Norman said the Greens could get more than 15 percent of the vote at this month's election.

He said the Green Party would seek to make real policy gains in social, economic and environmental areas if it is part of the next government.

Dr Norman says for that to happen, obviously the Labour Party would also have to perform well on election night.

According to Radio New Zealand's own poll of polls support for the Greens is trending upwards with the party sitting on about 13 percent.
