A mother who says her child is being failed by the Government at school has told the Education Minister she sent letters to her but never got a reply.
Education Minister Hekia Parata held a public meeting in West Auckland on Wednesday night, attended by more than 100 people.

She spoke with concerned parents and teachers who raised issues, including the extra workload national standards create.
A mother, who doesn't want to be named, says the education sector doesn't have the resources to deal with special needs children, lsuh as her daughter.
She also says her son is in a large class and doesn't get the attention he needs because teachers can't cope with their workload.
Ms Parata says she felt the meeting went well.
The woman said she did not feel her questions were answered and the Minister was passing the buck.
and there were a lot of passionate people getting their messages across.
But she said it was difficult to address everyone's queries "because I'm here to talk about what's happening in education as a system and across the country".
She also said a community meeting was not the place to deal with particular issues so instead she spoke to those people afterwards.
