Internet Party seeks commission approval

The Internet Party of Kim Dotcom is waiting for Electoral Commission approval to gather membership data via online applications, including allowing a member to sign directly on to a computer screen with a finger or using a mouse.

The party hopes it can officially launch within the next few weeks but must first prove to the commission it has the requisite 500 members to be registered as a political party.

It wants people to be able to complete the whole process of joining the party online and hopes the Electoral Commission will give its final approval during the coming week.
