MPs have been told that there needs to be a greater focus on women when it comes to training and apprenticeships.
The Education and Science Select Committee has been hearing submissions on the Industry Training and Apprenticeships Amendment Bill.
The legislation says industry training organisations must have regards for Maori and other populations.
But the National Council of Women told the select committee that's too broad and it should make specific reference to women.
