Several million dollars seized from criminals will go towards efforts to crack down on methamphetamine, also known as P, Prime Minister John Key says.
New figures out today show 0.9% of the adult population use the drug.
Police have seized millions of dollars under the Criminal Proceeds Recovery Act, which law enforcement and health agencies can then bid for.
Mr Key on Monday said $3 million of that would go towards providing accommodation for participants in alcohol and drug treatment programmes, enhancing screening at Customs and a police training programme to teach drug dogs.
"By cracking down on precursors, breaking supply chains, providing better routes into treatment and supporting communities and families, we are tackling P from all directions," Mr Key said.
