Mr Key ruled out working with party leader Winston Peters before the last two general elections.

The 3 News Reid Research poll of 1000 voters asked whether Mr Key should or should not rule out working with Mr Peters after the 2014 election.

Some 58% of respondents said he should not rule it out, while 36% said he should.

When the poll split that answer into Labour, National and Green party supporters - it found 62% of National Party supporters want Mr Key to not rule out working with Mr Peters.

The Prime Minister said on Wednesday that he won't be making any announcements about who he will or will not work with until election year.
