Greens co-leader Metiria Turei says the party is preparing for talks with Labour after the next election, and is focused on keeping a strong identity.
The party held its annual conference at the weekend.
Ms Turei said the point of the relationship development they are working on with the Labour Party, is to look beyond common ground.
Ms Turei says the Greens want not only to be an effective part of a coalition Government, but to strengthen their voter base as well.
