The Government has received 315 submissions on a plan to deal with earthquake-prone buildings.
In December, Building and Construction Minister Maurice Williamson, proposed a requirement for all buildings to be seismically assessed within five years.
Buildings then deemed to be earthquake-prone would require strengthening or demolition within ten years.
Mr Williamson said the proposals are just a starting point and some changes are likely after the submissions are analysed.
He said the Cabinet will consider any policy changes before an announcement is made later this year.
