It will be a youthful team that departs for London to represent Cook Islands at the Olympic Games later this month.
Headlined by slalom canoeist Ella Nicholas and sailor Helema Williams, who will carry the flag at the opening ceremony, none of the eight-strong Cook Islands squad is over the age of 24.
Team Chef de Mission George George Williamson says hopefully this group have plenty of major tournaments ahead of them, and can lead the way for the next wave of stars.
"Today I'm heading off to some of our secondary schools to encourage our kids because I'll be introducing some of our athletes to them, and these are athletes that have come from these schools. In fact two that are still attending college as perhaps to use them as role models for all our athletes wanting to be part of the Youth Olympics coming up in 2014."
Some of the Olympic team is already in London with the rest of the team due to depart next weekend.
