Soldier in critical but stable condition

A soldier who collapsed from heat exhaustion while taking part in the SAS selection process, was transferred to Auckland hospital from Middlemore hospital on Monday for special treatment.

He is in a critical but stable condition.

The soldier was training with a group of other prospective Special Air Service soldiers in the Hunua Ranges near Auckland on Wednesday when he collapsed and became unconcious.
