Five people in serious condition after SH16 crash

Three young children remain in a serious condition in Auckland's Starship Hospital, following a crash north of the city on Saturday afternoon.

The three children, were travelling with their mother, and one other woman, when their car rolled on State Highway 16 between Helensville and Wellsford at about 3.30pm.

Twins, who are 15-months-old, are in a critical condition, while their three-year-old brother is described as being in a serious but stable condition.

Their mother, and the second woman also remain in hospital, with serious injuries.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
