Police investigating the killing of a Christchurch teenager have recovered human remains at a cemetery in the suburb of Linwood.
Hayden Miles was 15 when he went missing in late August this year.
The remains were recovered from a site Ruru Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon.
Police have been searching a site there for a few days after receiving information from one of the several hundred people interviewed as part of their investigation.
Three tents have been erected over the site, which is guarded.
A formal identification of the remains has not yet been made and a post-mortem is expected to be held on Wednesday.
A 27-year-old man has appeared in court charged with Hayden Miles' murder.
A woman, aged 18, has been charged with helping him avoid arrest, while a third person, Timothy Kuka, is accused of robbing the teenager.
