A woman has been left bruised and terrified after a brutal beating at the Hobsonville Returned and Services' Association, police say.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Andy King says the 62-year-old manager was preparing to open the club when a man disguised in a halloween mask burst in on Thursday morning.
He immediately began beating the woman viciously around her face with his fists before he bound and dragged her to another room.
The woman managed to free herself, but the man beat her and tied her up again. He then emptied the till and fled.
The woman was treated at Waitakere Hospital and later discharged.
Police would like to speak to anyone who saw a man wearing dark trousers and a dark hooded sweatshirt in the Hobsonville area between 8am and 9.45am on Thursday.
