An earthquake off the East Coast of the North Island has shaken the Raukumara Peninsula.
GNS Science says the quake struck at 2.32pm on Sunday, 60 kilometres east of the town of Tikitiki, near East Cape.
It had a magnitude of 4.1 and was at a depth of 25km.
