Former MP Taito Phillip Field has lost his final legal bid to overturn his convictions for bribery and corruption.
Field was jailed for six years in 2009 after being found guilty of bribery and corruption and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The charges were laid after he accepted labour from Thai people whom he helped with immigration matters and then tried to cover it up.
Field's lawyer told the Supreme Court that the Court of Appeal was wrong in its finding relating to what constituted corruption by an official in public office.
However the Supreme Court has upheld that Court's decision.
In a ruling issed on Thursday, it said the trial judge in his summing-up accurately described what had to be established to show that Field had acted "corruptly".
Field was released on parole earlier this month.
