The Government is to contribute $3 million to a help establish a national health innovation hub.

Acting Economic Development Minister David Carter and Health Minister Tony Ryall say better links are needed between the $1.8 billion health technology industry and the health service.

The hub is to be based within four Auckland and Canterbury district health boards with public and private sources funding the balance of the $24 million cost over the next five years.
