A spokesperson for TV3 owner Mediaworks says she saw a script from a production company for an airport stunt but it did not suggest there would be any attempt to breach security.
Six people have appeared in court this week in relation to the impersonation of a pilot at Auckland Airport on Saturday.
Airport staff challenged the man dressed in a pilot's uniform who wanted to enter a restricted area. When he could not show staff the correct identification he was turned away.
It has been revealed the stunt was carried out by people working for a TV3 show.
The Mediaworks spokesperson says the script from Yoink Productions said an actor dressed as a pilot would try to get a free flight at the domestic terminal.
She says the footage shot of the stunt is highly unlikely to be screened by TV3.
All six people involved have been charged with breaching the Civil Aviation Act and remanded on bail on the condition they do not go near Auckland Airport.
