Water supply in parts of Wellington will remain off, or disrupted, until early Sunday evening.
A water main burst at 10am, cutting the water supply to a large part of Brooklyn and the suburbs of Vogeltown, Mornington and Kingston.
Wellington City Council says officers and contractors are working to fix the problem.
They need to replace a four-metre section of pipe which is estimated to take up to six hours.
