An airforce staff member, on exercises near Nelson Lakes National Park, has been flown to hospital by rescue helicopter.
The 19-year-old woman from Auckland was flown to Wairau Hospital after she slipped on a fallen log and broke her leg.
She was treated by Air Force paramedics who called for a rescue helicopter because of the remote location and rough terrain.
