A Porirua primary school board member has quit in frustration as allegations of bullying at the school mount.
Lepeti Tea, a Windley School board of trustees member, handed in her resignation weeks after a petition signed by almost 30 parents and relatives went to the board about bullying concerns.
Ms Tea says she can no longer fulfil her functions as a board member in the face of inaction on bullying.
One mother wants to take legal action against Windley School, saying her daughter suffered seven years of bullying.
Ms Tea says two staff have quit in recent months over the principal's treatment of them.
She says she is worried the school is not acknowledging parents' complaints and that the board is not acting on the behalf of parents.
In a statement, the Board of Trustees chairperson Vanessa Johnson would not comment on staff matters, but said they were working on a plan of action to address matters raised in the petition.
